Now today, after some words of wisdom and or streaming consciousness from your host, John Bothwell. Well, we'll hear from our guests who will share their story and insights for managing and growing a business in today's ever changing environment.

Hello, again, this is John Bothwell. This podcast is about interviewing business owners, leaders, and sales professionals who have managed to succeed, to learn from their life and business lessons. It is my sincere hope that you will find something you can use to grow personally and in your business. It was a successful seminar or a conference when I left with at least one thing that I could put to use in my business or personal life. After having read many of the top sales management and leadership books, I have discovered that behaviors, in my opinion is the number one reason for success and failure in leadership management and sales, the number one attribute to success in business and life is behaviors. Behaviors, equal focused action complemented by a proven process. A proven process is one that is repeatable and delivers repeatable positive results and the use of a coach and a consultant.

Someone you can be honest with and someone who will hold you accountable, in other words, someone that you can use as a trap to trap you into doing the behaviors and following the process that you know, will lead to success in business. Unfortunately we're accountable only to ourselves and the good Lord, which is why we need a coach and or consultant to also hold us accountable. In the business world today. We're not just looking for smart good-looking people like you and I, we are looking for people who can control their emotions under stress, have empathy, speak positively and show optimism. When times get tough in the boardroom, or when working with associates and customers. To survive today, whether you're a business owner, senior manager or sales professional, you will need to adapt quickly to an ever changing business environment and world. Now I'm just an old country boy, who's got lucky in life.

I am also an international business trainer, author and consultant with over 30 years of national and international sales expertise. I have combined psychology with many years of real world selling and sales consultant experience to help business leaders achieve their goals. I have been described as an aggressive problem solver and recognized industry leader who applies his diverse experience and talents to grow in his sales and management consulting firm. I have enjoyed leading a team and implementing strategies and tactics that achieved both company and individual growth for our clients. Working with a variety of companies from fortune 500 to startups has allowed me to develop insights and skills proven to be successful in real world settings. I have a gift, the ability to recognize what other people don't see. I have a skill that allows me to see and connect dots that other people don't see and don't realize.

And I use that skillset and ability in helping my clients grow their businesses. Among other credentials and I hate to bore you with this but, I was told I needed to throw it into the podcast. I am ISO certified in sales and marketing and a certified senior manufacturing engineer with the society of manufacturing engineers. Other international accreditations include certified in marketing and sales certified professional behavioral analysis, certified professional values analysis and certified attribute index analysis, plus certified hypnotherapist with the international hypnosis association and the medical and dental hypnosis association. In other words, I am certifiable in many regards. They say it is a fine line between genius and insanity. And I'm not always sure which side of the line I'm on.

We need to recognize leadership as a verb rather than as a noun. Leadership. In other words is action. Action is the hallmark of leadership.

Action is a hallmark of being an effective senior manager. Action is a hallmark of being a successful and impactful sales professional. The world we live in today could be described in many ways, but certainly most of us would agree that we live in a world that is uncertain, complex, volatile and ambiguous. In many ways with technological change comes complexity, uncertainty, and volatility, organizations today must either search or internally grow a new generation of leaders if we're going to be successful in growing our businesses. Business will not return to their original organizational models. Business as usual is a thing of the past. We only need to witness the virtual work environment that we're experiencing today, whether you're working at home, going from zoom meeting to zoom meeting or an online conference, or looking at our kids, learning at home online or universities, switching their curriculum to online courses in this ever changing world. We're either going to survive and thrive, which means that we have to be agile and open to change, or we're going to perish. It Is my hope that as we listen to other business executives, business owners and serious sales professionals, we will get ideas that will help us survive and thrive in today's world.
